On this Priesthood Sunday we thank Fr. Socorro for all he does for St. Valentine Parish and Our Lady of Loretto Parish. Your ability to juggle two parishes and know the names of most everyone is amazing. You are an incredible priest and role model. Thank you for answering God’s call.
Huge Success
Once again the Fun Run Walk was a big success. From the little tots run to the military vets carrying the flag, the 5k run itself followed by the spaghetti dinner with all the door prizes, and don’t forget the famous sock throw, what a great afternoon. If you weren’t there I’m sorry you missed out. A big thank – you to Jim & Patty Soter and Bonnie & John Danic. They planned, organized and executed the entire afternoon. They even had employees from Kohls come and help with the dinner. Again thanks to all the volunteers who helped. I believe they numbered in the 70’s. The Parish Council

The 15th Annual Fun Run/Walk and Spaghetti Dinner is now in the books. Everyone who came and participated had a fun time—and that’s what this event is about….having fun with family, friends and meeting new people. The weather cooperated, the spaghetti dinner was delicious and there was plenty of food to go back and have seconds. The bake sale desserts were yummy and the money went to a very good cause, helping out the 7th and 8th graders for future expenses.
Our 80 + volunteers were outstanding! Without these volunteers, the race and dinner could not happen. A very special thank you to all those who stayed after the award ceremony and the throwing of the socks to help clean up the gym and to help load our vehicles—our hearts and love go out to all of you.
We salute our veterans and our active military men and women who took part in the Honor Guard. I believe this is the most vets we have had at our fun run.
We graciously thank Stephen Moran-EnMotive Michigan for donating his timing expertise and having the race results posted so quickly.
Thanks to Fr. Socorro for his support and his kindness.
Lastly, our SPONSORS…take a look at the back of the shirt and thank them if you see them. Each donated $100 or more to help our parish! In return we send them a shirt with our parish thanks.
In the weeks ahead we hope to have race and dinner photos on the parish website. We will do our best to get it done quickly.
