On Saturday, April 15th and Sunday April 16th, the Sacrament of Anointing will be offered at all St. Valentine’s weekend Masses. This sacrament is intended for
everyone dealing with an illness, facing surgery, feeling the effects of old age, or suffering with any type physical, emotional or spiritual affliction. It is an opportunity to receive the Holy Spirit’s
healing gifts of strength, faith, peace and courage. If you wish to be anointed during one of these Masses, we invite you to call the parish office by Thursday, April 13th to register your name and the Mass you will attend. The office number is: (313) 532-4394.

Lenten Opportunities for Prayer
Lenten Opportunities – Evening Prayer
Evening Prayer is a traditional prayer in the Church. St. Valentine parish will offer Evening Prayer in the school chapel on Sunday Evenings during Lent at 5:00 pm. The service consists of reflection, song, and scripture readings. Booklets for the service are provided. The service lasts approximately ½ hour and will start on Sunday, February 26th.
Stations of the Cross
Stations of the Cross are prayed at St. Valentine parish, in the Church, every Friday evening during Lent at 7 pm.
January 22nd – Feast of St. Vincent Pallotti
St. Vincent Pallotti was born in Rome in 1795. He was a well–known priest because many people sensed that God worked extraordinary graces through him. He raised large sums of money and organized schools for shoemakers, tailors, coachmen, carpenters, and gardeners, as well as evening classes for young farmers and unskilled workers. In his lifetime, he founded the Union of Catholic Apostolate. At that time, the Church did not actively involve the laity, but St. Vincent wanted to inspire people from all walks of life to work constantly for God’s kingdom. He called the members of the Union of Catholic Apostolate (laity, sisters, priests, and brothers) to charity, patience, humility, zeal, and love of God. St. Vincent Pallotti died, leaving a legacy that inspires people worldwide. Today the Union of Catholic Apostolate in the United States is composed of the Pallottine Fathers and Brothers, the Pallottine Sisters, the Pallottine Missionary Sisters, and various lay groups.
